Vance W Amory International Airport formally known as Bambooshay Airport then Newcastle Airport is located at the northern tip of the island. The Airport was expanded and renamed in 2002 after the former Premier of Nevis; it is now open after dark and can take planes with up to 70 seats, the Super ATR.  The Airport has a single runway of about 1,220 meters.  There is a plush new terminal building with a couple of shops that open according to the flights and the time of day. The departure lounge also has a couple more. There is an ATM at the airport.
