Postal Services
The postal services on St. Kitts and Nevis give visitors the opportunity to send post cards and other parcels back home.Both St. Kitts and Nevis have post offices located on the island. The general post office on St. Kitts is located in Bassetterre and on Nevis in Charlestown.
Operating hours: Monday through Saturday from 8:00am to 3:00pm, Thursdays 8:00am to 11:00am
Mail generally takes about 7 to 10 days to reach the United States, and airmail to Western Europe takes about 5 to 7 days.
St. Kitts and Nevis use different postage stamps. These stamps are considered beautiful collector’s items and some people may have a hard time actually using them.There is no postal code, or street address in St. Kitts or Nevis, as on most of the other Caribbean Islands. The persons name, town, island, and sometimes postal box number are the only things required on outgoing mail.
Telecommunication
Cable & Wireless (St. Kitts-Nevis) Ltd. is a joint venture between Cable & Wireless and the St, Kitts-Nevis Government.
Callers in the United States who want to dial one of the 17,000-plus main lines in St. Kitts and Nevis will need to dial the area code, 869, followed by a three-digit access code, followed by the local four-digit number. Internet access is available in most hotels and in Internet cafes in Basseterre and Newcastle, DSL and cable is also available. Pay phones are also available throughout the islands and will accept phone cards and some Eastern Caribbean coins.
If you are dialing from St. Kitts and Nevis to the United States, dial as you would any long-distance call in the United States – dial 1, then the area code, followed by the local number. Calling cards can be purchased and credit card calls made using some of the following access numbers:

Internet services are available at all of the hotels, as well as from an Internet Cafe in the city. Broadband connections (DSL & Cable) are also available, as are Web developing and hosting technology.
