Museums/Galleries

Eva Wilkin was a very accomplished Caribbean artist, whose work has become quite valuable. Although trained in England, she lived on Nevis for 50 years, and in addition to her paintings, she created several murals of Nevis scenes. She excelled at rather penetrating portraits, especially of local children.

Wilkin’s studio is in a picturesque location, an 18th century windmill on the hillside near Clay Ghaut in Gingerland. The artist passed away in 1989, but her studio is now an excellent gallery which, in addition to selling prints of her work, also shows works from other Nevis artists, and has its own art-related gift shop.

Open 10-3pm M-F or by appointment, but call and check, as it was recently sold, and may have changed hours.
